SUPPERS

Outflow began in 2008 with a meal in Kings Square, the heart of uptown Saint John.  For the first eight years, different churches in the uptown area provided Outflow with space to serve these meals.  In 2016, we began serving our weekly suppers at the Outflow Mission at 162 Waterloo Street.  In the last 15 years, a tireless team of volunteers has grown one weekly meal into five weekly meals, totalling about 600-800 plates of food served every week.  Through the pandemic, we never missed serving a meal, though we did switch to takeout, serving from our Training Center on Richmond Street.  We welcomed people back inside to our newly renovated Upper Room at 162 Waterloo street in December of 2022.

Mens Shelter

Homeless men who need a warm and safe place to sleep at night are able to join us at the Outflow Men’s Shelter 24/7 with 30 bed shelter. It is open 365 days per year, including weekends and holidays. The shelter is free of charge and provides a place to sleep, a light meal, showers, laundry, and breakfast. Our shelter uses the “modified-wet” model, which means that guests who arrive under the influence of alcohol, marijuana, or another intoxicant are welcome to use our shelter as long as they commit to not use while in our building or on our property.

DENTAL CLINIC

A team of volunteer dentists, hygienists, and assistants has joined with Outflow and a number of other community partners to create the Outflow Dental Clinic.  This clinic provides people with free access to oral health care. The dental clinic is currently not operating because of COVID-19, but does plan to re-open.
